FINANCE ASSISTANT | 37.5 hours per week | Leeds City Centre, UK | Salary £22,000

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

Assist the Finance Manager with the company’s day-to-day credit control and purchase ledger.

 

DUTIES:

Credit Control

  1. To carry out all activities as required by management and implement the firm's credit control policy with customers
  2. Preparing aged debtor list and making sure all customers have paid accounts as per the terms of trading in order to improve the company's cash position
  3. Chasing customers for payment via phone and email
  4. Liaising with teams internally to resolve customer invoicing queries
  5. Preparing monthly statements for customers
  6. Ongoing investigation into why old invoices are not paid
  7. Raise credit notes to customer
  8. Monitor outstanding balance against set credit limit and escalate to line manager when limit exceeded
  9. Allocation of incoming payments from customers
  10. Performing Credit checks on new customer
  11. Setting up new business partner on SAP
  12. Review sales invoices, ensure default VAT codes and GL codes are correct

 

Purchase Ledger

  1. Entering purchase invoices and employee expenses on SAP
  2. Liaising with supplier for pricing error or disputed invoice for credit note/refund
  3. Reconcile supplier statements
  4. Cross checking Intercompany sales and purchase orders
  5. Assisting with month end
  6. Ad-hoc tasks including additional reporting
